Make your own Magnesium Spray - Heres the recipe !

A magnesium spray is a great topical way to boost magnesium levels, often used for muscle relaxation, reducing cramps, and promoting better sleep. Here’s a simple recipe you can try at home:

DIY Magnesium Spray Recipe

Ingredients:

  • 1/2 cup magnesium chloride flakes
  • 1/2 cup distilled water (use distilled to avoid impurities)
  • 1 tsp coconut oil (optional, for added moisture)
  • A few drops of essential oil (optional, lavender is great for relaxation)

Instructions:

  1. Heat the water: In a small saucepan, warm the distilled water over low heat, but don’t let it boil.
  2. Dissolve the magnesium: Add the magnesium chloride flakes to the warm water and stir until completely dissolved. This creates your magnesium oil base (though it’s not technically an oil, the texture feels somewhat oily).
  3. Cool down: Allow the mixture to cool completely.
  4. Optional step: Add 1 tsp of coconut oil if you'd like to moisturize your skin while applying the spray. You can also add a few drops of essential oils like lavender for relaxation or peppermint for a refreshing feel.
  5. Bottle it: Transfer the mixture to a clean spray bottle and store it in a cool, dark place.

How to Use:

  • Spray directly onto the skin, especially on areas like your legs, arms, or stomach. Rub it in gently.
  • You might feel a tingling sensation, especially if you are magnesium-deficient, but this should subside with regular use.
  • Use it before bed for better sleep or after a workout for muscle recovery.

Hi Linda, I couldn’t find the reply button for your comment, but you’re not doing anything wrong. Everyone responds differently, and I also used to have trouble sleeping. If you want to sleep like a baby, it’s worth considering a high-quality sleep blend. There’s an excellent one here: PitchBlackSleep.com – Also try to go to bed at the same time each night to further support your circadian rhythm.

Am I doing something wrong if it doesn’t make me sleepy? I’ve made this magnesium spray twice and I don’t seem to feel anything. I just want to get a good nights sleep and nothing seems to work 😫

Linda

Great recipe!! For people worried about the coconut oil going hard just use fractionated coconut oil.

Trish

AWESOME RECIPE/directions, THANK YOU!
I used MCT oil.

BAD RECIPE! The coconut oil solidifies when the product becomes cool. Use a liquid oil like olive or avocado and SHAKE WELL before every use.
